Design Support
From design to manufacturing without iteration.
With our experience in the design of passive printed circuit board elements, packages or connector devices for RF or high speed applications, we can support manufacturers for rapid end effective product development. We are able to perform a virtual system analysis before having any real hardware available through the usage of different analysis tools. Those tools consists of full 3-D electromagnetic field solvers or microwave circuit simulators.
Moreover, an optimization of a design can be done quickly and cost effective in this design stage compared to the complicate and expensive optimization by "trial and error" on existing hardware. Finally after having the first prototype available, an evaluation of the "real" electrical behavior is an integral part of the design support. With state of the art measurement instruments we can evaluate the device behavior in the time and frequency domain.
The ERNI zeroXT connector on the right hand demonstrates such a successful consulting project. Starting with an EM analysis (top picture) and a design optimization to enable data rates up to 12 Gbit/s, this connector was manufactured in one step without significant modifications.
Finally, the electrical behavior was evaluated with specially designed test boards (lower picture).
